Fancy Tea-party

Last Saturday I attended a fancy afternoon tea party for a friends birthday. There were just under 40 of us! It was amazing, everyone looked so pretty and there was so much cake. The theme was Hime (Princess) lolita fashion and ouji/kodona fashion for the guys

We went to Henry’s tea room in Lincoln where we had sandwiches, crisps, unlimited tea and a whole load of cakes. Look at how pretty it is:

If Hogwarts Students Wore Lolita…

Hello fellow kawaii enthusiasts, I hope you lovely people are well! Last week my comm held a photoshoot. We’ve held one for the last few years as part of a UK wide lolita fashion calendar but that sadly ended last year. The plan this time is to produce an annual instead that will have photos and articles in it. The theme for the first photoshoot set by the committee was ‘films’. After a lot of debating we eventually decided on Harry Potter for our theme as we have a lot of Potter fans in our comm and the cathedral works perfectly as a backdrop.

Our photographer was the really lovely and talented: Saoirse Clohessy Photography.

She’s currently fundraising for Raleigh International Trust to go and help in Nepal and our payment for the shoot went towards her fundraising. If you want to know more about this and donate visit her just giving page here:

My Ravenclaw Inspired Co-ord:

I decided to represent Ravenclaw as I aready had items in my wardrobe that fitted the colour scheme. Obviously as it’s a lolita fashion shoot I wanted to ensure that I didn’t go too costumey but at the same time I wanted a co-ord that was obviously themed, rather than just wearing a standard lolita co-ord in the relevant colours. I hadn’t really done anything quite like this before so I’m not sure I got it 100% right but anyway. Also this pose felt so un-natural to do but actually looks really nice – always trust the photographer.

Summer ILD 2016

Hello you lovely people, hope you are all well! I had a few laptop issues so this post is a bit later than intended. Last Saturday 4th June it was International Lolita Day and lolitas around the world held various events with their local communities to celebrate. I went to Sheffield to visit the Yorkshire Comm. We had afternoon tea but served more like a buffet. The lovely Sheffield comm mods had booked a space in a tea room for us and it was decorated and we had music playing in the background and everything.
(*photos from the day were taken by Holly)

When we arrived we were each given a special programme book which had a few games, silly stories and bits of information inside. We also got a little gift bag which included a raffle ticket, bracelet, postcard that I think was hand painted and a sweet. It was so cute and such a nice thing to do.

We played a few games throughout the day, socialised, took photos and then they held the raffle which had various cute gifts including branded items from Japan! How lovely is the tricorn!

Everyone received a prize and I won this lovely Chocomint teapot and cup clip. I’d wanted one of these for ages.

And here’s what I wore. It turns out this is the only summery dress I now own and I ran out of time to sort my outfit well so this is what I ended up with. It’s a very hard dress to co-ordinate too. I’m not happy with how this turned out but here it is anyway. I did order some green socks but they arrived late….

Alice in Wonderland – Outfit shot

I met up with my local frill wearing friends yesterday to go see the newly released film ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’. I went with an Alice theme because I’d just bought this dress and what better excuse was there for wearing it? Also blue and white is so Alice so I couldn’t resist.

Headbow: is just the dressbow on a headband
Wig: Bodyline
Bolero: New Look
JSK: Infanta
Wristcuffs: altered ones from Claire’s
Necklace: is a tiny White Rabbit Charm on a chain
Socks: Primark

I also had a white bag and shoes to balance it all out and hide the fact my socks were the wrong shade of blue, shhh.

Outfit Shot – Hyper Japan July 2015

Carrying on with the unicorn theme. My friend eventually put up the photos she took at Hyper Japan last July 2015. This is what I wore on the Friday of the event. You can actually see my natural hair in this photo and I’m wearing a lot of pink! (Both are very unusual for me). Also – look how much of a chipmunk face I have! This is my friend Mel, she went for a mermaid theme and she always has pretty mermaid hair!

Dress: Hell Bunny, Cupcakes & Unicorn Print
Shrug: Offbrand
Bag: Choies
Shoes: Bodyline

As it was so long ago I can’t remember what accessories I have on.

Outfit Shot – Alice

We had a small local meet up yesterday. The original plan was to visit an Alice in Wonderland themed tea room but they decided to change their opening times last minute and so were closed! I’d decided to go with an Alice theme originally and as I’d already got everything planned out I decided to stick with it. I’d planned two outfits, one sweet, one black & grey and due to the change of plans and over cast day I went with the darker one.

Vintage Fair Meet – Outfit Shot

I went to a local vintage fair last weekend with my friends. I decided to wear my new Nightmare Rising JSK as it has a vintage vibe, plus Cthulhu print! I apologise for the terrible lighting, it was an awful rainy dull day.
